Industrial & Electronics
The Deringer-Ney Marshall facility has been successfully satisfying Industrial & Electronics customers for over 30 years. From our plant in the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains we ship Electrical Contact Rivets, both solid and Bi-Metal plus a wide variety of other special Industrial Components to all points on the Globe. Our parts are the standard by which the industry measures Quality and Precision.
At Deringer-Ney we specialize in providing the total package from Metallurgy to component to assembly from one source. We can help you choose the correct Alloy material or suggest a special alloy material like our Paliney 7. We can manufacture the components with one of our cold headers and perform secondary operations like drilling, threading, pinching if necessary. We make stand off pins, connector pins, terminal pins, contact points, and heat sinks. Then in conjunction with capabilities in other DNI facilities, we can finish the job with full assembly of the finished component further consolidating your supplier base. Today you probably came into contact with an Industrial or Electronic product using a Deringer-Ney component. If you turned on a light, used any of the many Appliances in your home or even rode in a golf cart playing the back nine you likely used something with a product of ours in it.
We specialize in Electrical contacts made from Silver alloys and Bi-Metal (silver cap friction welded to a copper base) contacts. But our specialty is Micro Cold Forming miniature parts. These can be alloy materials like Silver, Copper, Brass, Nickel, Stainless Steel, Kovar, even precious materials like Gold and Platinum. Shapes are only limited to ones imagination and the rules of physics applied to cold forming, which we are rewriting every day.
Give us a call. One of our experienced engineers will be happy to work with you on your particular micro heading application; new components or improvements to existing ones; or perhaps you are looking for Cost reduction. We can help! There are many screw machined parts that can be cold headed at a greatly reduced cost. Cold heading can produce many difficult head shapes that are nearly impossible to machine. In addition, we use lead-free materials.
For more information about the advantages of cold forming see our article in the August 2003 issue of Machine Design Magazine “Banging out tiny parts”.
